How Caterpillar Experience recycle and restore...

 OUR PHILOSOPHY

The New Zealand Caterpillar Experience strives to be energy efficient. Our general waste is recycled and the team is focused on minimising environmental damage, preservation and land sustainability.

Lindsay Willis, the man behind The New Zealand Caterpillar Experience, is very much committed to the preservation of our country’s heritage and to sustainability. His enthusiasm for the restoration of vintage machinery has been the cornerstone of The New Zealand Caterpillar Experience.

Thousands of hours over the last fifteen years have been spent by Lindsay saving and restoring derelict machinery from the scrapheap. His work not only returns and preserves these classics to working order, but provides others like him with a supply of recycled original parts for their projects. Preview here . Feel free to  contact us should there be particular items being sought.

Lindsay continues to operate CAT machinery today, primarily land preparation for re-establishment of sustainable forestry in the Central Plateau area. Take a look at www.wilco.co.nz for information on how we turn problem planting sites, through efficient low impact environmental preparation, into productive forest.

The central plateau is home to the endangered karearea (New Zealand Falcon). The area’s cut-over bush provides an abundance of the birds’ natural prey. Our operators are mindful of the karearea’s presence and national importance. Our company policy is to contact the local experts at Wingspan Birds of Prey Trust, here in Rotorua, should we consider the birds are in danger or injured.
